Fuses, bulb... it 'can' go out both. Depends on the bulb, and what caused it to go out.

That's a very good idea.

With the extra space inside the headlight bucket I could wrap one in bubble wrap and tape it in there.
Over the time I have adapted what I carry on the bike. I got rid of some bulky stuff I never used, but I've found myself adding some "VTX specific" items.

I now carry a small piece of plastic hose for opening the vacuum on the petcock, some rubber handled pliers to jump the solenoid, and a bit of fine sandpaper for cleaning up starter switches, battery contacts, or spark plugs ... all thanks to lessons learned from Charlie, Donut and boys on here :choppersm

Add to your kit - two safety pins and a packet of test wires with alligator clips on each end from Radio Shack. (for ECM and starter switch for a temporary repair) in a small zip-lock bag. To get you home. And one of those 12v teat probes sold at ACE $3.00? ( looks like a small screw driver with a wire coming out of the head).

Let's not forget a stick of gum, a bobby pin, and three matches broken down to 1/4 length... ;)

Kidding, great advice guys, I'm going to have to set up a travel set like this now.

Yes Boss! :patriot:
Actually I would like to see a "how to" on that ECM fix ... and I'll bet I'm not alone.

If the ECM wire is broke you slide the safety pin into each half of the broken wire and jump it with the alligator jumper wire. It's a temporary fix to get you going until can fix it.

Could one not just jam the safety pin through the broken wire and straight into the ECM?
