Hi All,
Long-time lurker and even longer-time biker. My first 'proper' bike was a Honda CB650 when I was 14 and had different brands since then. Last bikes were a couple of Harleys, but sold them as I got married and travelled the world. Our 3rd baby just arrived and finally went back to my roots with a 2007 VTX 1300 S.

Preaching to the choir when I say you don't get more honest than the VTX! Only had it for a couple of weeks, but it's been in pieces in the garage mostly (PAIR valve, plugs, new apes - all on the to-do list).

From all I've read, this is the friendliest forum I've come across and you guys share some terrific info. Happy to be a part of it.

Welcome from central Pa. high atop the Alleghenies. The only thing that would increase the size of your smile would have been if you'd bought a stump-pulling torque monster 1800.

Hi from NJ and Welcome to the Cafe.

Australia eh? I know a guy named Phil who lives there. Drives a white truck. When you see him tell him, "The birds have flown". He will know what ya mean, but be ready to duck just in case.

You know how Phil is these days ...

*Congrats on the newest member of your staff!

Thanks mate! I'm busy doing all kinds of things to the new scoot and am posting in the 1300 forum for some input. It's great that everyone's friendly and happy to help.

G'day, mate. One of my buddies is an Aussie and we tease him to no end about his accent. Haha, he's such a cool guy though. He showed us a book about Australia where his brother was highlighted as an award winning surfer. I was totally impressed with the pic of his public school lined with surfboards instead of bicycles. We westerners have NO IDEA what chillin' is about. Welcome to the Cafe, brother.:cheers:I hope to visit Australia some day. Maybe I'll learn how to chill, Aussie style.

Thanks mate!

Let me tell you, you haven't lived until you've visited an Aussie beach and enjoyed the 'scenery' on offer... There are some cracker (terrific, awesome, great) ocean roads as well.

That being said, I've done some roadtripping in the US, and you guys are lucky - you can literally gas-up and head in almost any direction for an adventure. Over here, there are the cities with nothing in-between, so epic roadtrips are tricky without proper 'I don't wanna die' planning.
