I just joined the forum this week also. I'm in the Boise area, so your just a few hours East of me. I'll keep you posted if I hear of any upcoming rides etc... There was a big "Hells Canyon" ride last weekend in Baker City Or. but unfortunately I didn't have my wheels yet.
