I have owned my VTX1300 Retro for just over a year. It's my first real bike... I owned a couple of old small Honda's from the 70's, but that was 20 years ago! I recently completed the ABATE of Indiana's safety riders course and got my motorcycle endorsement. FINALLY! I truly love my VTX, especially now with the mods that I have done, on my own... I fell completely in love with it all over again the first time I fired it up with the Cobra Dragsters. Wow, it's now a head turner and I love it! I plan on adding a sissy bar and passenger foot boards, soon. At the moment I can't picture owing anything else, but I am sure with time I will want to move up to the 1800 X. The wife can then have the 1300.
I would like to say that I have used this forum in so many ways so far. I have tuned my carburetor using the "scars" method that he talked about. I have fixed a terrible oil leak due to the dreaded kinked crank case breather hose, what a disaster that was! I came straight to this site, though, and instantly was relieved to find that it was an easy fix that I could do it myself for the cost of a couple of quarts of oil that bled out! Anyway, I love this sight and want to thank everyone for posting their experiences and knowledge.
