I have been riding for about 60 years (yes, I'm that old) I'll be 72 in March. I have never had an alarm on a bike of mine.
My Son and a couple of his friends have them. Does anyone think they are necessary? Also, I've already got loud pipes (SAVES LIVES), What does anyone think about adding a loud horn (train/semi.) ?

You all have a great day.

I have a Wolo. So much better and louder than stock horn. Some use Stebel. Bike is protected by Sig Sauer. I have HK3" Long Straights w/ 4-1/2" SmartzBaffles inside the originals, dropped the tone maybe 10% w/o going deaf. I also have all lights upgraded to LED (VTX Daymaker, etc. Quake Rogue road lights for aux. I've got you by 4 months.

One size does not fit all for bike alarm needs. It all depends on where you ride, where you park, where you leave the bike unattended, etc. I live in VERY low crime areas, park at summer and winter homes inside a garage, leave the bike unattended a lot in parking lots but in very safe areas, and have never had the slightest incident. I even have a highly desirable back rest that can be lifted right out of the bracket and this has never disappeared.

I sometimes us a Disc lock that also picks up vibrations if some one tries to move the bike or turns the handlebars. But if you use one make sure to remove it or your in trouble

fork lock so cannot roll away. Thiefs are good as a team. Pick up bike and put in vehicle, off it goes. Modern alarm these days to track bike location perhaps
