Hi all, I know this has been done to death but. I can't find any info on stock handlebars, I have a 04 1300, it came with I think aftermarket bars, the bars have no adjustment to them, and my controls are facing too far downward making it hard to hit the start button and horn, i have tried to loosen the controls and turn them but there must be a pin not letting them turn? if this makes any sense. I would like a few pics of some stock bars so I can see the difference. thanks for any help. Bill

Which model of VTX1300 do you have? The C model (short fenders) has no handlebar pivot adjustment. The R, S, & T models will all adjust. Yes, the switchbox housings have a pin that locates them in a specific clocking position. However, just grind off this pin and then you can pivot these housings to whatever clock position you desire and use the friction between them and the bar to hold them in place.

Thanks for the info, I have the C model and I did just that when I got home, I ground the tips off and put about an 1/8 shim under the handlebars and it mad all the difference. Thanks again for the info. Bill

According to Chuck "Silver F", those pins can be removed with a pair of pliers

Thanks for the shout out to Chuck. I miss the heck outta him not posting here anymore. I'm part of a private 6- man chat rm. on here, including him, and he hasn't been there in maybe 2 or more years. One of the sharpest bike mechs I have ever known. He worked on Hondas for many years.
I miss Chuck too! I use to chat with y'all some on the old Cafe platform, sure do miss it.
