Is there a HID headlight for the 1300R? Would like to have one of those bright blue lights. Less chance of getting pulled out in front of. Thanks

I just finished to install mine.... I went with this kit
http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1349
A little bit pricey but it is worth the money. Very easy to install plus the igniter and ballast comes in one single unit so less problems due to faulty igniter. The ballast is very thin. No big space required... I did it under the the tank with no problems. The system is complete digital so you will never loose the color. 45% less power needed to work with. The transaction was smooth and very fast shipping. 2 years warranty, etc...
I highly recomend this product. Also they have the normal kit if you want to go at the normal way. Remember that your kit must be H4. I went with 4300K (kelvin) that is pure white... but you have between 3200K to 12000K to choose from.

Here's my question; I just purchased a pack of Nokya h4 bulbs stage 2 8500k @ 100/120watts. it is the closest bulb to HID but it is not HID. IT is just a regular blue/purple bulb. Is it recommended to buy a wiring harness to replace my factory wiring harness???? They offer a Nokya wiring harness but i was wondering is it just another way for them to make money. They (Nokya) say these bulbs are hot and i say they probley are. But is it necessary to replace my headlight wiring harness?? Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions?? Thanx the ozz.

Not sure. If it were me, id just make it out of some good 10 gauge wire and a 40A relay or something. if you go that route, make sure you add a fuse or fusible link in on the power wire into the relay.

Ozz: running that kind of wiring isn't a good project for a first timer or someone who doesn't know a lot about electrical circuits. Im not saying that you dont, because I don't know your background, but be sure you know EXACTLY what you're doing before you start, or you'll wind up with a LOT of problems. if you arent sure, spend the money for an aftermarket harness.

There are plenty of VTX owners out there who had problems
with their starter pushbutton switch contacts
and never added any extra lights to their bike,
and never modified the stock headlight.

I recommend adding a relay to power even the stock headlight.
Getting power for the headlight from a relay reduces the current
thru the headlight contacts of the starter pushbutton switch from
about 5 amps to half an amp or less, significantly increasing
the service life of the switch assembly.
