I use my bike a lot in the summer to ride back and forth to work. I usually get home aat about 4am and my ride is 40km on a highway that has a problem with moose. I really need the high beam but I get a very bad glare off my windsheild when the high beam indicator is on because it is so bright. The bike is a 1300T so the windsheild is on the correct angle. Is there another bulb that could be used that is a bit dimmer or is it a LED. Has anybody else had a problem with this? Thanks in advance.

I hear people talk about this being an issue, but have never found it to be one for me. I have the Hondaline windshield and never noticed a glare. I have heard of people putting tape or cotton or whatever over the bulb. Good luck.

Yup, what they said... I did the cotton ball stuffed in the hole myself... works well.. BUT while you got the whole thing opened up though... you might as well change out the speedometer face to a custom one, then recalibrate your speedo needle, then put the dbl sided tape around the screw holes/screws to eliminate any future rattling...

4 mods in one for about $35 or so...

I have a vinyl cutter and am planning on cutting some different colors in a circle and applying it to the glass. Want to see how much light, how big, and whatever else I can figure out... basically it'll be a 'sticker' to apply to the glass, no opening the speedo...

Then I'll open the speedo and do the same for the bulb, if I can get the exact diameter of the blue screen, I can probably do a white, or off white one to make it much more soft on the eyes at night..

Will report back when both are done.

I pulled the spedo apart and put a couple layers of wax paper inside. Pretty much anything translucent will work, one way or another.

How do you recalibrate the speedo needle?? I looked for a thread but couldn't find one.
Take the speedo apart (use care not to touch the inside of the speedo glass as it's coated for fog protection, pop off the needle and put it back on slightly different than it came off, put all back together, and test ride it against your GPS... You should see how to adjust it so you are much closer than it was stock... that's how I did it...

I believe Eagleinthewind has a better way, but this worked for me... It did take me 4 tries though...:)

You will see that when you pop off the needle (I used a fork to pry mine up carefully) that the shaft that the needle mounts on will spin back about 100 degrees to the right... so when you put the needle back on you put it back on at about 105mph... then when you turn the key on it will go back to the zero point... You will have to play with this a few times to get it close enough to satisfy yourself...
