I was traveling on my bike to meet a lady friend to go riding. On the way I lost my favorite du rag. Could not turn back so I decided to stop in at the Honda Dealership and purchase another. I got to choose from about 15 different kinds and that was it. It was strange when i got to looking around that none of their stuff said "HONDA" on it. I tried to pick a nice "honda" shirt for a friend of mine and the entire store had 1 plain white shirt that in big black letters said Honda (quite ugly). Next door was a Harley Davidson dealership and it seemed that the apparrel store is as big as the dealership part.

I would love to have some nice stuff that says Honda or VTX. I am very proud of my fine running machine. Am I the only one?

You're not alone. Dawg's has some nice stuff...

He can customize anything. I liked the design on one shirt but wanted it to read VTX 1800...no problem. Good quality shirts too.

I know what u r sayin.....but I look at it like this : Honda spends time on making a quality motorcycle....not over-priced t-shirts to buy after you've paid WAAAAAYYY to much for a HD to start with.....and I'm sad to admit I fell into that catagory for about 14 months one time...

I understand what your saying. Some of the larger Honda dealerships carry some stuff but not much. I order my du rags most of the time. We have a bike shop in Huntsville has a lot of du rags and sometimes I get a few there. When you wear out or lose your favorite one it's hard to replace it.

My understanding is Honda doesn't have enough people waiting around for their bikes to get fixed, because of great built bikes. Harley is usually packed with break downs, so while everyone waits, people are more likely to buy merchandise from them while waiting for their bikes are fixed.

Please let's not turn this into a Harley bashing thread?

Thank you.

I don't think the OP is asking for the world or for Honda to become an apparel company. It just would be nice if they had ANYTHING related to their different models or even something more than 1 white Honda t-shirt on hand that's all.

If anyone from Honda is reading this... I would also like a die-cast model of the VTX, like you sell for the 'Wing and some sports bikes. Thank you.

Honda never did. That's why you go to the independents.

Just so you know, I was in no way attempting to bash Harley Davidson. I have alot of respect for that company and what they have accomplished over the years. They have sucessfully not only built alot of bikes and clothing, they have created and marketed a "way of life" for themselves...good or bad....it's quite an accomplishement. Besides replacing my du rag, I was wanting to pick up a little present for my date. I met her at online dating site and she owns a Honda Shadow. I thought a nice "honda shadow" t-shirt would have been a nice gift that wasn't too expensive...etc. But nothing even close to it. Oh well, I will give my money to the internet instead.

I manage a Honda Automotive Parts department and Honda (both automotive and motorcycle) have vendors that are made available to the dealers to purchase apparel. Unfortunately it is so the cost to the dealer is almost at the retail level so because of such slim profit margins ( I know profit is a dirty word now days) many choose to opt out of the apparel business.
I usually get the majority of my do rags at local rallies, are fests, or online.

We had a local cruiser shop close down last winter and so the pickins are real thin around here. Most of the local dealers sell stuff geared for the dirt bike and ATV riders. Maybe 1/10th of the stores are cruiser accessories and apparel.
