I've been threatening to go for the past three years and never have since I was on the 750 spirit, but now that I have the VTX I think I will make it this year. Don't know about room availability but can make a day trip out of it if necessary. Only about 100 miles from here. Can meet up around exit 44 or 37 on I-40 and ride the gorge together. Let's do it.

I have a group of folks leaving on Wednesday morning (6/20).
1 Gold Wing, 1 VTX1800C, 1 1300C, my 1300S and 2 Harleys on a Kawasaki that's an inside joke - their name is 'Harley'.

We will be staying Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat. Leaving for home on Sunday 6/24.

Wednesday morning, we will be heading west on I40 and getting off at the Maggie Valley exit, going through Cherokee and Deals Gap, and on up to Knoxville. We have met GA folks in Cherokee before and can again.

Thursday we are planning the 'Falls Ride' (I think this is a new one) and vendors at the park.

Friday it's the Cumberland Gap Ride

Saturday you can't miss the Best Dam Ride and Fish Fry. (the best dam is the Norris dam in north east Tenn.)

That's my tentative itinerary. I will have times for Wednesday's ride after talking to the group.

We would be happy to have anyone join us along the way.

If the GA group wants to meet in Cherokee and ride together the rest of the way, that would be great. As we get closer, we can PM cell phone #s etc.

Unk,
Go west young man! - on I40. About 15 minutes past Winston-Salem you will cross over I77. At the very next exit, there's a Cracker Barrel. My group is meeting there. I will have a time soon, but probably 8 or 9. I have 1 guy recovering from surgery and we don't know how long he will be able to ride. As we get closer to June, we will know better. At this time, he is planning on having his wife pull a trailer and be able to put the bike up if he starts hurting. His wife usually brings the car, but rides with him in Tenn. In 2004 we were glad to have the car. Knoxville set record rainfall totals that week. We still had a good time but the bikes took the worst of it. I spent 2 days cleaning and de-rusting when I got home.

We can PM phone #s and work out the details.

Looking to attend this year, will be riding from North GA....
If you are coming up on Wed, look at a map there's a straight shot into Cherokee. We should be there at about noon-ish.

Sounds Good

We are also talking about my wife driving the truck with a trailer in tow. We have 3 right now my VTX, a Shadow 1100 and a Magna. The friend that rides the Magna had some knee work done so it is a question if she can make the 6 hours to TN, so we planned on a trailer as well.
