Hmmm. so that's what Honda's R&D has been up to. Since they're obviously not working on a big v-twin bagger and the redesigned gold wing is basically just a gold wing without the trunk. Looks like they're going in a direction that most of us cruiser guys hadn't considered.
Not for me,,,but it's pretty cool.
The fact that a beginner could get one with an automatic transmission could put this bike in the garages of lots of people who otherwise might not even consider a motorcycle as transportation. Could be a whole new untapped market.

The NC700X looks pretty cool looking to me. It's lightweight and maneuverable. This is not a bad package at all. Not cruiser based but not everyone needs a heavy cruiser.

I would never consider the automatic option for myself but my teenage daughter might be interested in an automatic.

Some people might like like it. For myself, I would like the mpg but, I'd never ride it so, that is of no consequence. I think it is really ugly and the luggage, you may as well duct tape a milk crate on the fender and wire to suitcases to the shocks. Same idea. Then may be put a full windshield on a sport bike. You would have a garbage hauling, confused, crotch rocket that looks just like it. no offense, I just don't care much for it. I will stick with my ride.

I do like the type bikes, though I would prefer a dual-sport with more offroad capability. This particular bike has one design flaw, that would probably be a deal breaker for me. The engine is integrated into the frame, which transfers vibration throughout the machine. One can only imagine theframe rider discomfort created, not to mention the long term maintenance issues.

Most modern day sport bikes have the motor acting as integral part of the frame. They are amazingly smooth. Not sure about this bike though. But, I doubt Honda would send out a shaker.

With the price of gas jumping around like it is, I'd think it would be a good commuting option for some. If nothing else, it would keep more cars off the road and it looks better than a scooter.

Lot of people looking for a small commuter bike might get one.

I see a similar bike running downtown year round, rain or shine.

Does look better than a scooter. lol

my goodness you guys are tough. I love the bike. Now I would never buy it as a replacement to my X, but I would like to have it to play around on. Now I would much rather have a BMW, but I do like this bike as well.

the counter balancer will take care of the vibrations. the engine as part of the frame member. that design has been around for 80 plus years. Honda used it on the Superhawks (CB77) back in the 60's with NO problems or maintenance issues.
