After trying some out down in Tampa I broke down and ordered some Cobra Fattys and kury pegs to go with. :D

I hope now my knee will let me get more than a couple hundred miles before it starts to get sore.:choppersm

Was great to see you this weekend Geoff. Nice buy on the fatties and pegs. Trust me, once you find the peg position where your leg is 1 or 2% from being fully extended, you'll be fine. For me, if I had it too far extended numbness set in, I found that almost fully extended was best, your results may vary. LOL

I have my pegs a little to close and tend to push with my legs all the time to keep my butt planted in the back of the seat.
Now if I just rest my heals on the floor boards and the toes on the pegs it is fine.

I am just saying take time to ride between adjusting them don't just hop on and do 10 miles and change them.

It was great to finally meet some of you guys and gals. I really should have done that sooner and can't wait to do it again.

Thanks, for the tip. I didn't think they'd need to be so close to straight but now that I think about it that seems okay. I'm just not the kinda boy to go sticking my feet up in stirrups. ;-)

Well, once you find the magic spot, you'll be putting your feet in that position, so, we'll see. lmao

Charlie, what kind of pegs do you have? I bought the kury longhorn ones with the extension. I noticed a few people had them and the one I sat on was really comfortable.

The boots is issue a good point. I didn't think about that. Thanks.

I have the Kury wides with the medium longhorn offsets

I tend to keep the feet on the offsets when they are all the way up.

I don't like to ride in the cold with the legs splayed apart wide the boys just get to cold.

I have the palidin bars and they aren't as wide as the ones you got.

Yeah, those fattys are wider than I'd have guessed. I hear you about the riding the cold, but I'd bet what I call cold you call a lovely spring day.

9-10 months out of the year here the temp is under 70.
6 months a year morning ride temps to work are 40
3 months out of the year the morning temps are 28-40
2 months out of the year 50 is the ride temp to work

This morning the 17 mile trip was in the fog I could see 4-5 dash lines ahead on the road and the temp was 45.
I have thermal bibs I wear to work and a heavy lined jacket, gloves are shot so need to replace before it gets cold.

Um, Charlie... 45 is cold. My cutoff is around 40 and my lowest ever was 36. Suffice it to say, I don't have the clothing for long rides like that.

How long is your ride to work? Mine is 30 miles nearly all interstate.

ride is 17 miles but I also head into the mountains and go up in elevation 45 from home is 36 where I work.

I gave temps from when I leave home.

Nice. I rode in the mountains one time. It really surprised me how much cooler it got so quickly.

I did 200+ miles this last weekend. It was not my knees that was screaming. I wore bicycle pants under my jeans. The "Boys" were needing a rest. Even on the Mustang seat, my butt got tired. Was so happy to get off the bike and add gasoline at 189 miles at flipping to reserve.

Hahaha, I had some "comfort" boxer briefs that were supposed to be good for riding. They did the same thing and there was a seam that ran diagonally across each cheek. That's not so comfy after a few hours on you butt.

I am never out of the mountains here any direction 5 miles at most and I am going up.

I live in the Umpqua valley in Oregon and it is touted as the area of 100 valleys.
Do a google search and you will see where I ride 90% of the time.
Crater Lake is at most 80 miles away the coast is 100 miles.

Well, I am close to the coast here. But, I get excited by speed bumps in terms of elevation changes.

We get good gas mileage here, though. ;)

You guys make sure there is nothing at all in back pockets wallet and all other needs go in the inner vest pockets.

I have the Haynes boxer briefs and am good for the tank but usually fill at 100 just to have a smoke and get the kinks out.

I have another trip to the Dr next week and it will be 200 miles up to see her then back then add that to work miles and by the 29th of the month I will be over 81,000 on the bike.

Once you find your sweet spot with the pegs you'll love them. Take your feet off them at intervals when you first use them. Everyones different but I find if I use them too long my legs get stiff. This makes the time getting back on the floorboards and shifting longer. The same with braking, bad knees tend to do that.
