I had the same problem also. I didn't want to spend that much to clean up the rear of my bike. I came across a triple chromed licence plate holder with white led illumination at Walmart (couldn't believe it!) for 40 bucks. I unbolted the factory light and black licence plate frame. I cut the bottom V bracket off the frame flush and removed the relectors and notched the reflector holes to fit the new holders upper holes. Save those reflectors. I sprayed some black paint on the frame as it was cut and drilled. The black frame now fits perfect behind the new chrome holder. This modification lets the chrome holder sit up close to the fender and looks really good. I put led turn signals inside my tailight housing and bolted those 2 reflectors in the factory signal holes to cover them up. They bolt up perfect with no mods needed. I love the look now and it cost me under 70 bucks for all including led signals. I'll try to get some pics for you. My bike is a C also.
