I noticed in the picture of the VTX on the top of the cafe site, an air cover with two curved tubes pointing forward. What is the manufacturer of this and does it increase performance? I read that the 'spike' air cleaner cover was mostly for looks. Do you guys run the K & N filter? Can I run it without doing any more mods?

I'm still a tadpole and it's a pretty big creek I'm swimming in.

I do know this much. Anything that says 'motorcycle' is marked up about 3 times the normal price of things.

The bike belongs to Stump and yes it is functional and high performance. I forget the name of it but they are made anymore and are quite expensive.

That is Stump's bike and I think I read that the airbox cover he has was like $600 or something like that...Waaay more than I'd pay, but that's just me...That being said, there's alot of less expensive ways to get more air into the engine...

Yep. That's the one I was referring to. Maybe a guy could start making those by using a bender, a tig welder, and a chrome shop. Oh yeah, and a band saw.
