There are many differences. These include the following easy to recognize differences: spark plug covers, one vs. two hoses going to front brake caliper, and clutch master cylinder on handlebar.
All 1800 have inverted forks. The down tubes are on the bottom and sliders are fixed in the triple tree's.
1300s have regular forks with the down tubes up top in the triple tree and sliders holding the wheel axel.
As mentioned there are many differences, the one that stands out the most to me is the inverted front forks. Looks much different and is easy to detect.
