I haven't looked real close for any numbers. It's the same housing and shaft, just the gears are different. I don't know the calculations, but the # of turns of the shaft compared to the # of turns of the drive gear = the ratio. Once you know the ratio you can tell if it's a 13 or 18. Maybe one of the engineers will get on and help.

I'm just a little worried that people may start miss representing their drive if I let out how to tell. But I did tell Got 18 how to tell cause he's been askin' for awhile. If you ask him he may tell you how. I will be off the boards (all of them) for the next 10 days. Ya'll be safe see ya in ten.

Ok, I know mine is stock 1300 but now I'm curious. LOL. If you don't mind PMing me and letting me know how to tell, I'd appreciate it Got 1800.

I don't know what the #'s would be for a VTX, but we used to figure out gear ratio's in car axles by spinning the axle one full turn & counting how many times the pinion shaft went around. I'm sure the same system is used to know which one is which on these to.
