I have a 2008 VTX 1800 F1 and I'm having an issue even in this cold weather when I'm doing slow maneuvers in parking lots the fan keeps kicking on for the radiator. My question is how do you check the radiator fluid level on this bike. Please help me with detailed instructions. I thank you in advance for your answers

The place to look is the overflow tank that is on the bottom of the bike just in front of the rear wheel. It has a "low" and "full" mark on it. Your fluid, obviously, should be at the "full" mark. If it is not, then you will have to remove or lift the tank (easy to do and involves unscrewing the dash, wrapping it in a towel and propping it on the bars, then removal of one bolt) to access the radiator cap.

Actually what you're describing used to be on my 1300 with the tank directly in front of the rear tire but on the 1800 I looked and there is nothing there so it's got to be something or somewhere internal

On my 1800N the reservoir is on the left side of the engine directly below the fuel tank. There is a level indicator (slot in the housing) that shows the level when looked at from the rear. There are a few screws that hold the chrome cover on, once you have that off, there is a fill cap on the actual bottle inside the chrome housing. Again, this is on my 1800N, I know that things vary from model to model.

Just like you did on the 1300, raise/remove the fuel tank and remove the radiator cap. The volume of fluid in your overflow reservoir may not accurately reflect the volume of fluid in your radiator.
