Went out for my first long ride today and found some nice empty roads way out in the country. By the time I got home though my bike and windshield looked like they had the measles. I had a dealer install the shield and forgot to ask for any documentation that came with it so I'm not sure how it should be cleaned. What do you recommend. I see a few mentions of microfiber towels but what is a good cleaner for removing all the little bug corpses? Also noticing a little side to side buffetting on my helmet now. Will adjusting the windshield help with that? It's a Memphis Fats 21"

Honda cleaner(black and pink spray can) will do the trick, or windex is also good. You can lean your shield forward or back to help with the wind.
Don't leave the bugs on too long they will be harder to get off plus can pit your paint

I've been afraid to use windex on my Memphis shield. I have a spray bottle of Dawn liquid soap mixed with water, that I spray on...let sit for a few, and do it again. Then I get the hose out, spray the thing down, actually use my fingernail for the more stubborn corpses, and use a cotton washcloth to dry everything.
Again, afraid to use windex, thought I read somewhere that it might damage the thing....

Watch out for Windex with ammonia (or other materials with it). It has shown to deteriorate special coatings on polycarbonate (Lexan) shields. Use of IPA Rubbing alchohol) 50/50 with distilled water works real well and leaves no spotting or haze. I hose off the grit first and wipe dry with a chammie or other wiper and use the above.
I also wax with 3M silicone boat wax (has no abrasive cleaners). Also do the whole bike, boat and all cars. Living in FL we have something called LOVEBUGS down here. when left on the paint to dry and bake have been said to etch or pit paint. With the 3M above they slide off for the most part and wash off later. The above wax can be purchased at any boat supply store.

Used Maguire's for years on my Wing...now using it on my X. Use the cleaner (nasty green goo--kind of like the bugs) and then follow-p with the polish (bugs slip right off).

'Course, bugs ain't all bad...if you need the protein. :)
