Cronicdrummer,
I know how u feel, on two seperate occassions in myrtle beach I had very bad experiences, 1st A drunken (doctor) golfer on his way to his room decided he was in the wrong lane at a stop light and eventhough he could not see the 100 + bikes behind him, decided to back up and change lanes. Of course my hubby and I had to be the 1st ones behind him. Well hubby's legs are a little longer and he got out of the way, needless to say my front fender was bent into the tire, but I kept it up. The guy just drove off, what does hubby do, chase him down, while leaving me sitting at the stop light not able to move, luckily some of the nice biker dudes behind me pulled out my fender and I was able to track them down. Yeah, at a gas station, my 6'2 220 hero, ha, at the mans window banging and using lots of colorful words and threatening things I've never heard him say. Well, after calming him down the police arrived and did their thing and took control of the golfers person and his vehicle, left his buddies standing alone at the station, and left me with the report and my dented, scratched fender. oh, hubby got a stern talking to by the cops too, cashier said she thought he was gonna kill the guy. Anyway, the doctor golfer fixed my bike plus some, and lost his license.
The second time not so lucky, two years later a crazy guy driving a small blue car decided he would pass the car in front of him by spliting the lane it was in and the one I was in beside him. Needless to say he was about a mm from my floorboard, this was my new X, He stopped ahead of us at a stop light and I let a few colorful words fly. Hubby was quiet for a change, that is until we all took off and the ass slammed on brakes infront of him. Well now, he took off again and hubby gave chase, me yelling a hubby to quit before the guy killed him. After two or three times with the guy attempting to side swipe him hubby decided to pull over and call the cops. We gave him the NC tag, but never heard another word. I guess he got his one day, things have a way of working out. Whew tired of typing now. Luckily, those are the only two bad experiences I've ever had and hopefully will ever have. So just let it go and enjoy your new ride, and definately keep the buffer zone as wide as you can. Ride safe, Oh yeah I work in law enforcement, and your mustang guy will get his one day, lots of motorcycle cops out there tooo!!
