Which way do I turn idle knob (clock/counter-clock) to idle faster or slower, and should a turn be a quater turn or less either way?

Also...

I have cobra speedster slashdown pipes and Pro-R hypercharger. I get a slight (very low) popping sound once in a while. I might hear it once or twice if I'm riding for hours or once or twice when I first start the bike (warming up). Is that normal or should I not be experiencing that AT ALL if the bike is tuned and adjusted properly?

Thanks ~

Clockwise to increase idle and counter-clockwise to decrease.

When do you hear the popping? At idle or while deceling.

Have you done the PAIR valve removal?

On decel and it's BARELY noticable (heard). You really need to pay attention to hear it... and like I said it happens VERY sparingly.

The work was not done by me (as I am not really mechanically inclined), so I'm not sure if the pair valve removal was done.

Am I just looking for perfection (should I)!

Turning the throttle stop screw in or clockwise will increase the throttle opening, increasing engine RPM.

How much of a turn will begin to make a difference... a quater turn or less?

You will notice the difference with less than a quarter turn. And it is clockwise to increase if you think about the adjustment knob pointing straight up. Basically turn the front part of the knob towards the bike to increase.
