I am a new old member here, and I'm happy to be back. A car accident caused a neck injury, that prevented me from riding. This year I am doing great and look forward to getting as much wind therapy as possible.

Hi gang. i'm Brian from Reno NV. I just bought my first adult street bike. VTX 1300C, 2005. I rode mini bikes when I was a kid and was bound and determined to ride again as an adult. well here i go baby! taking MSF course in Oct and heading straight to DMV for license. My plan is to take my bike to parking lots on Sundays to learn how to handle her better. I'm also excited to begin to work on it and get it ready to ride. It has 19k miles on it. I'm very nervous about riding on the street right now, but I won't be once I get my safety course completed and practice a few times. Any beginner tips would be awesome from all of you experienced riders. Thanks and looking forward to being part of this family!

Welcome! And GREAT decision on the motorcycle safety course! I'm looking forward to taking another one either this fall or next spring and I've been riding for a few years. Never stop learning, never stop practicing the basics! Slow speed maneuvering, emergency braking, counter-steering, weight distribution, lane positioning, everything!

Welcome to the group. Practice, practice, practice. Be wary of the front brake (east does it) with the front wheel turned right or left, can and has caused some to drop their bikes. That is experience talking, ride safe and did I say practice? Seriously ride safe and the MSF course is a wise decision.

Just post "3....." "4....." and so on. I have noticed that some folks are able to post pics here on their first post. Maybe if it's on the 'for sale' thread?

Greeting all, I'm Brian, IT Specialist for the Department of Defense, I currently live in Largo Florida. I just picked up my VTX 1800 FS this Saturday and I am already in love. Funny Story about mine, my friend had actually traded it in for a Goldwing. I had always loved his VTX but was actually looking at getting a Fatbob in a few years for a corner carver. I currently own a 2006 Vulcan Nomad and 3 weeks ago it lost a bevel gear bearing I finally got around to fixing it and I broke a bolt mount off the swing arm. Frustrated and knowing this was going to be a huge repair I left the bike in pieces and was looking for a replacement. On a whim I stopped at the dealership and his VTX was still there so I walked inside made a cash off and told them to call me if they would except it. The next day I came back and picked her up, this bike is a whole different world from the Vulcan and I couldn't be happier.
