My brother and I have this bag. We both took a piece of aluminum flatbar to reinforce the form of the bag. We snipped a few threads on one end and slid the flatbar inside. I have a 2006R he has a 2004C

Oops, I needed to tell you some more about it. I also got some oversized chrome washers and some 'Locktite'. Put the windshield bags in proper place and the washer over the mounting holes. Then use locktite onthe threads. I was so afraid of over tightening acorn nuts and crack the windshield. Lucky for me.... It works and looks fine.

I bought the ACE brand bag for my Memphis windshield. Just simply remove the middle acorn nut, slide the bag onto the bolt and reinstall the acorn nut. There is a small piece of metal channel that fits over the existing chrome strip for extra support and alignment. Think it costs about $65. Part number in J&P cycle magazine is 830-447. I can put my wallet, cell phone, and check book in it with room to spare.

I bought my windshield bag at a leather shop in the flea market. Fit's perfect without any modification. As long as it has a small bracket built onto the back side and has a hole in the middle for the bolt to go through, you're in business.
