i recently had a severe lower back injury and although it has been very difficult to do the simplest of things that we take for granted (like tying your shoe) it has had an unexpected side effect..... (i think this funny and interesting....yes i am not well LOL! )

even though i could barely do anything physical because of the pain....i would take my pain meds and muscle relaxers and then something odd happened.....i felt like working on my X

so i have been very busy...

first...

My fog lights....didnt really plan too far ahead...just searched the net then went to my local autoparts and bought these! once home i looked for a spot to install them...believe me when i tell you that i never just go out and buy something then try to figure out what to do with it...i blame this one on the meds! ;)

i tend to scrape boards a good amount so i may need to raise my front end a bit....only been out on the bike once since i installed them but i am very please so far! Even though my HID headlight completely washes out the fog lights thus making them useless in adding any light to road for ME to see it definitely adds to the "others seeing me coming" which is my main goal!

second....(actually i just remebered i did this first :p )

put some LEDS inside my intake!!!

Third....

Fuse Block Mod..

the 4 right ones are triggerd by the relay the 2 left ones are always on!

Thanks to BuYa he found the ground block! (good job buddy!)

fourth....

the amp and speakers!!!

i am not ready to give a full review on the setup yet as i am waiting for a replacement amp, this one works but there is something wrong with volume control that wont shut off the amp. it also starts to distort and the sound cuts in and out at full volume...this may be inherent to the amp but wont know until i get the new one!

the speaker grills will be painted a a satin black along with the bags so they all match. i will also have to tweak the lids a bit to close the gaps between the bottoms of the grills and the curved top of the bag lids (i am thinking i am going to heat up the lids with a torch and soften them so i can maybe flatten them out just slightly..or just fill the void with something....dont know yet! to be continued)

opinions/comments are welcomed!!!

Thanks for looking!!! :mosh:

You sure have been busy. It all looks great! I am curious though, what material are the bags made out of? They look to be made of ABS plastic. If they are indeed ABS plastic, the torch will work great... as long as you don't heat them up too much. However, I don't think the torch would work on fiberglass.

Again, the new additions look great!

Thank you all for the kind words! Its been fun (well the back pain not so much) and well worth the effort!

Yes they are made of plastic, i also think the torch will work very well. I need to find the cut outs i made when i opened up the holes for the speakers so i can test it out using the torch.

Thanks again!

Personally I wouldn't use a torch..Too hard to control what you're doing with the heat...Could easily end up with ruined saddlebag lids...Just go buy a tube of black silicone and put that under each speaker and tighten them back down...Then use a rag or paper towel to remove the excess that squishes out...Had my bike been black, I probably would've done mine that way versus all the filling and sanding I did...

Looks good. But... they lights under the boards would last one or 2 corners before they were dragged off.

i agree completely and after giving it plenty of thought....i will be using a heat gun instead and came up with a way that i am pretty confident will work! i will take some pics of the process

looks great, I am curious to see how long it takes to rip those lights off. at least I would grew up on sport bikes and tend to drag things alot lol. nice job!

Yup....i also agree lol thats why i wanna raise my front end a bit! and if i do rip one or both off, i came across another set that is extremely low profile that i would replace them with!

You win for most original location to install lights. The intake looks really cool
Thank you! original location BUT.... we shall see how long they last!

yes i am very pleased with the intake lights! (at least i cant drag or rip that off unless i lay the bike down :bleh: :) )

Thanks for all the input and comments!!! they are all greatly appreciated!
