One of my speaker brackets broke so I used JB Weld for the first time tonight. Will the bracket be "good as new"?

I have had mixed results with jb weld. As said, Pay close attention

same here some times hold good sometimes not. Ive found the jb weld stick works better then the std jb.

When bonding two metals together, alot of how good is it going to be is in the preping of the material to be bonded. I have been welding over 35 yrs. and have seen some JB bonded materials last 10 yrs are better and have seen some heliarc or stick welds last a couple of hours. If cleaned properly and mixed as directed you should be fine...

I would weld with a second piece of metal (maybe as simple as a paper clip) and a layer of JB weld. Be sure all surfaces are very clean.

The key to a good repair with jbweld or any two part epoxy compound is 1. good surface to bond to 2. accurate mix of part A and part B of adhesive
I have had some good results using this kind of stuff as long as there is not alot of stress to the repair.

Thanks all. The bracket has no stress other than the vibration. I have it all back together so we'll see how long it holds.

JB weld is good stuff if you use the right 1 and do it right. My hood on my sears garden tractor hinge broke and i fixed it with JB weld, that was 4 years ago and it's still holding. I did use the metal type instead of the epoxy type.
