Just returned from 5 days riding in Yellowstone and the Tetons. Took the 1300. It performed flawlessly riding 2UP. Weather was great with mornings starting in the 50's and afternoons reaching upper 70's. Rode to elevations up to 8400 feet.
Not many tourists since school has started in most places. Rode Monday through Friday. Had enough time to stop at as many turnouts and observation areas as we wanted. Had close encounters with the Bison. Wife said she could have touched a large bull as it walked past us on a narrow bridge. Saw grizzly and black bears. Had "Bear Spray" at hand on the bike. Almost used it once.
Took lots of beautiful pictures and brought home many great memories.
That's one more riding experience that I can cross off the "bucket list".

That pic of Jenny Lake looks real familiar. Everyone needs to put Yellowstone on their bucket list, even if you have to drive there.

Nice pictures.
How about using that bear spray?? Did you forget to eat your beef jerky before you went in??
I loved Yellowstone, and having the panoramic views the motorcycle allows, well it's just better..
Gonna take the wife with me going that way next time.

Nice photos! Thanks for sharing.

I used to live on just the other side of the Tetons you show in that first photo...Star Valley Idaho...for a year when I was a teenager.

It's really hard to appreciate that photo of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone because you can't appreciate just how far DOWN it is from where you are taking the photo.

I'm surprised you saw a Grizzly. I've always had to hike way into the backcountry to see them. My boys went with me several times as they were growing up. They stayed in Utah whenever I was deployed overseas. They even got to witness a fight between a sow with two cubs and a young male that "invaded" her meadow. We had a front row seat on a bluff just above them when it all occured. Really COOL!

Another time, I had taken my sons to the Upper Falls when I was home on leave once and a little kid ran from some group he was with into the trees off the trail there...hit some scree as the rocks started sloping down and went all the way over. He'd been a little jerk even in the parking lot when we arrived, giving the chaperones a helluva time. Still...That's a LONG slide through the trees before hitting the edge of the cliff and slipping out into space...

I heard they never found his body. :(

Anyway, for those of you going, it's super beautiful and incredibly majestic but, even though it's called a "Park," they aren't going to fence you from the natural hazards of the wilderness and geology, either! :nono:
