Sunday before last was at Big Pines and it was great... I eat there often... Rode 200 miles around that area, it is really good...

Northeast of Marshall,TX; Beautiful scenery, lots of cypress trees and moss hanging from the limbs, great lazy ride with a couple decent roads. Be sure to check out Big Pines Lodge for some good catfish and AMAZING jalapeno hushpuppies!

Heard that Big Pines was for sale; didn't know it was still open. Been eating there since I was kid in Jefferson. Not many GOOD places left in the area to eat catfish. Appreciate the news...Pops
I see that this thread is pretty old. Big Pines burned to the ground in the Fall of '09. There's a great little bar called The Lighthouse that's out there though.
Guess the poster never updated for the fire.
