So I am looking to get this hypercharger put on my 1800 C. I am also putting in a power Commander v and having the bike professionally Dyno tuned.
I would like to hear from anyone who has done this application and want to know what the end result was? I really like the aesthetics of the hypercharger but how well does it actually work, and were the gaines noticeable?

Plenty of posts about it being no more than a cosmetic thing.

It's shiny, eye-catching, expensive, weighs several pounds more than stock airbox, thus slowing the bike down, and anything gained performance wise is probably like a placebo affect in medicine. MY 2 c.

As always thank you for the constructive and humorous feedback.
so let me ask all you fine subject matter experts this.
What would be the best practical setup to get more power out of my X? Yes I know it's already fast and has great power but they know I can get more out of her.
Currently I have Cobra pipes and a k&n filter in the stock air box.
So I'm looking to get a decent air intake along with a power Commander v and there is a shop that has a dyno in my area. I've decided I want to do it right so I don't mind spending a few extra bucks.
Let's just say as funny as it sounds I saved all my Christmas money.

If you go through all the work of dyno get numbers before and after for those of us curious.

I wasn't trying to belittle anyone for wanting the Kury HYPED charger, or for wanting to get a few more HP for the VTX. If it's speed or power you want, you're going about it wrong with the wrong bike, plain & simple. You might throw hundreds of dollars at it for what, 5 or 10 more ponies? Save your Christmas money, your tax refund, and your performance bonuses and buy another bike with better performance potential than our VTX, and enjoy and appreciate the VTX for what it is, not what it isn't.

I didn’t notice a difference in power when I changed from a cheap eBay spike to the hyper-charger. I put it on cause I love the look but it didn’t make a difference either way in power. I have the pcv and will be putting in autotune

Thank you all who responded. It makes my decision a lot easier. I think I'll stick to my current setup.
some people say they noticed little to nothing and some people flat out said it's a huge waste of money. Either way after all is said and done it will probably cost me close to Gino's if not more. I think I'll just save my ? and skip this endeavor all together.

The gains are there, but you have to get a needle jet as well and have the exhaust to go with it. Though I did this on my 1300, it will be the same of any make and model. When the bike was stock, except for the pipes I had on there.......I had a throttle delay in responsiveness from the bike. Once I installed the new needle and hypercharger, it woke the beast within the bike!
It was instant response on the throttle, with quick get and go acceleration!
On summer days, my top end speed lost 5mph.......however, when the weather got cold and dense the hypercharger would eat it up and I would get that top end speed back!
The needle kit came with the hypercharger, but I got them both from ThunderMfg. when I ordered it!
Any further questions or concerns you have if wanting to add the commander chip should be directed towards them since they will be able to answer them. They dino test all their modifications across all makes and models of bikes they sell stage kits for!!

Sincerely,

Andre

The VTX1800 is fuel injected so if your mention of "needle jet" refers to carb parts, the 1800 does not have these. Instead, if you need to change the air/fuel ratio in an 1800 due to changing air intakes and sometimes pipes, you have to get an aftermarket fuel tuner.
