I bought new Kuryakyn pegs for the front and back of my 1300C. I installed them last weekend and noticed that the rear pegs were pretty easy to put down.

I finally got my bike out today, but when I am riding the rear pegs unfold. I want them to stay up. Any ideas?

I installed one of the fillers on each peg and it was so tight getting that in, I could not imagine trying to get a second one in.

Glad I wasnt the only one with Kury rear peg problems. Mine slowly flop down also. No way to shim it tighter or get a washer in there to line up with the bolt hole. The allen-head stopper pin works fine for leveling the peg when down.

I probably took the most difficult route. I hammered 2 washers flat and CRAMMED them in there with pliars, screwdrivers, hammers, and various other tools that I could get my hands on. Ended up cutting my hand up pretty bad when the pliars slipped, but I eventually ended up with 2 washers on each peg. Now they are FIRMLY in whatever position I put them in. They don't move unless I want them to. :bleh:

Agreed

I took a drill, made a bigger hole, put a screw with washer and a good nut in the other side.... way better than the infamous pin.
Plus 1 ioshen, The best way to do it by far. This way the bolt can be snugged up for any weight peg. And it will be fully adjustable. Mine have been this way for two years, No Problems. GG :D

Thanks for all the feedback.

So let me ask, what part do you drill? The bracket or the peg? The peg seems to have a larger hole than the bracket?

Did you use just a standard bolt and washer then a locking washer and nut?

I don't remember what size bolt I used. But it is a Stainless Steel Bolt with a Stainless Steel nylon loc-nut insert on it. I also used one spring washer on it as well. It never moves unless I move it. The male peg mount was the adjustable sort. This way the peg can be angled up, down, forward, back depending on your taste. Just find a bolt that will fit threw the peg boss holes. And don't worry about the male mount being a little larger. The bolt will pull it up tight anyway. Stainless Hardware is a must. GG :D

+1 GG. I drilled because all I had on hand at that moment was bigger screws. But you can find screws with the same size as your original pin. This way your only work will be snugging that 'til the peg moves at your desire.

Maybe I'm spoiled rotten but it's a damn shame you have to mickey-rig the rear peg install with uni rear ISO pegs. It's one of the few "non-bolt-on" Kury mods out of the package and somewhat of a sore-point with me. Some assembly-Depot-Lowe's visit required for non-chromed HW.
