Whats the secret in getting the large wire through the small hollowed out mounting bolt?

It should go right thru it but if it won't cut the wire stick it thru and solder it back together. Put a piece of shrink tubing over the cut wire first then solder and shrink the tude around it. If the wire is long enough you could cut the connector off and put a new one on once it's thru.

After posting the question I coated the wire with 3in1 ol and did some twisting and turning and got it through.

Good job, I thought it after I posted and a couple nuts tightened on the bolt with the hole and a vise could have worked too. lock the nuts in the vise and use drills to open the hole up just enought to allow the wires to go thru should have worked too.
