KY-TN-NC-VA Road Trip WOW!!!

I took my wife on her first road trip, however, to be honest, we took a wussy-wagon to help out:eek:. As this was her first long journey, I thought it best to trailer out there, and then ride from a central point. It could not have worked out better!! We rode over 1,000 miles in 7 days. That may not seem like a lot to most people here, but I couldn't have been more proud of my wife, who just started riding again after a 10 year hiatus..

We drove down to Cave City, KY and went to Mammoth Cave. Geez that is something everyone should see at some point. Then we rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge and road all through the Smokies, BRP, Cherohala Skyway. the Dragon, and Hellbender. OMG you Xer's who live around there have got to be the luckiest people alive :mosh:. The only tip I would give anyone is "BE PREPARED". We had great weather (sunny and 70's) every day.....except when we got on the Cherohala. It was gorgeous down below, but when we got to the top (4000+ ft), the temp dropped to the low 60's. About 10 minutes into the ride, it was like someone flipped a switch. It suddenly got darker, colder (high 40s) and started to rain.. We couldn't even enjoy the view. Once we got back down to the bottom, it returned to sunny and 70.

From there, we went to VA to ride Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Forest. Holy #$%@ was that cool.

We had such a good time that my wife is now planning next year's road trip. I am a lucky man :D

Anyways, I have all our routes and places we stayed at, so if anyone is interested, send me a PM our ask and I will post the info and how they graded out. I attached some pics. hope you enjoy them.

Yes, we who live in this area are very fortunate to have riding like this in our backyard. I've been across this great country many times and there is no place like home! Next on the list for me is NW where the mountains and roads are about like here. Come back again and often! We can use your tax money! Thanks for the pictures..
