Ok, so I bought some leatherlyke bags for my 1300S. I was just getting ready to install the brackets and I realized something.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if I don't have the back rest on the bike, and am riding with just the solo front seat, the black brackets are going to be visible???

Isn't the whole idea of quick release bags so you can put them on and take them off without having to do a bunch of wrenching?

I guess I was expecting something like the edge or easy brackets where the only thing visible on the bike when the bags are off, was the two posts.

Thanks in advance!

I'd have to go out and look at my bike to see. I would think if the bags are on, the brackets won't be seen. I'm sure if you take the bags off and ride without them the bracket is visible and would require some wrenching to remove. I'll look at my setup tomorrow in the light and if there aren't any answers, I'll post more.

I don't have black bracket. I just have two posts on each side that the bags slide onto, clip the pins on and that's it.

as said, with the bags on, the bracket will not be visible.....you need the bracket because the bag extends past the chrome piece on the fender.....I would be interested to see a picture of your bike, Catoma, without the bags.......the bracket fits over the chrome so i guess you could take it off.....I bet once you have the bags on, you will not be too quick to remove them, except to clean or work on the bike.......

If I had my back rest (sissy bar) on, the rails will cover the black bracket just fine and only the posts would stick out. By without the sissy bar I don't see how you could mount without having the ugly black brackets fully visible... Maybe I could chrome

not sure what brackets your talking about, but my bags came with 2 bolts that replaced the fender bolts and the bags just clipped to them
they may have changed the way the bags connect to the bike......I know since I have had my bags the bags themselves have changed....the area that the posts go thru have been thickened.....they were having issues with cracking at that spot.
