How easy is it to install the lowers on a 1300 C since it has exposed forks?

I have the 19" Fats that come all the way to the turn signals. Do I have to relocate the turn signals?

I have not bought the lowers yet. Want to desperately reduce the head buffetting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

I just put them on my 07r. Simple, but the instructions in the with the mount bracket or poor. I don't have a light bar so no problems. I placed my From the bottom of the install clamp to the bottom of the strut between 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 inches and slightly pulled back. Works great for me and helped reduce both noise and head buffiting. I wish I would have installed them on my last bike. Oh yes, I have the 21" shades.

MS lowers on 1300c

I just got my MS lowers last night for my 1300C, and had some problems with the install. There is a rectangular piece on the mount ring that is supposed to fit inside a rectangular hole on the mount arm, and the "outie" was bigger than the "innie". More so on the right one than the left. I had to file the rect. piece down some, then torque down pretty hard. I was concerned that I would break the screw off as well. Rode this morning, and it seems OK. Just need to keep an eye on it.

We had some MAJOR wind this morning, so I couldn't tell how much buffeting was going on vs. the gusting. Now comes the tweaking of the the angle, right? When I get a chance to take photos, I will post them. Probably not today.

I sure do hate having to file on new parts that should fit.

Oh Well!! :D

Have a good one,

1300C mount

Yes, I have the right mount. The VTX1300C is a totally different animal from the R and S models. The forks are exposed upper tubes, with no covers. The mount clamps to the fork tube itself between the upper and lower triple clamps, then has a sort of question mark shaped flat piece that curves around the turn signal stalk, allowing the plastic to mount below the turn signal. The flat piece is made up of two almost identical flat pieces that are fastened together for strength, and the inside one has a rectangular hole that fits over the fork tube mount (41mm I believe).

As I said, I will attach some photos as soon as I get time to make them.

Thanks for the help,
