I know this is a safety issue. But I love the way it looks without mirrors.
Enhance the handlebar, looks more smooth, etc...
Just wonder, wich way do you like most ? ? ?

Jose,
I just gotta say that I would never go without mirrors. I bought some Ness mirrors that are very small and I have decided that I am going to sell them and use bigger mirrors. I do use my mirrors a lot. But I guess turning our heads to actually look is just as important.

I agree mirrors are definitely a necessity for safety purposes. Mark is right on, shorter stems would definitely streamline them a little bit more into the lines of the handlebars and the bike. I recently switched out to some aftermarket mirrors/stems that are lower and more streamlined. I can't see as much out of them as I could with the stockers, but they function well enough and are a big improvement on looks. I use my mirrors a good bit, but not any more than I turn my head to look (which is every time I change lanes or get ready to make a turn).

I'm not sure on the laws in Puerto Rico, but I would think that most U.S. states require you to have at least one on a "street-legal" bike.

ok... my mirros are Arlen Ness Diecast Rail (that's the model on my invoice)
I like the style of those mirros but I agree with the "lower and more streamlined" comment. I will look forward for a new set. The laws here in Puerto Rico basically states the same as most US laws regarding the use of mirros to be street - legal. So, my decision: stay with mirros. Looking for a new alternative style. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks Big X, Pam, Marilyn & Retro Rich.

Take a look at this link:

These are what I just purchased and put on my bike. This e-bay vendor has several different styles available. They are very cost effective and look good. Obviously they are smaller than stockers so you don't have a great field of vision, but if you're looking for that smaller and more custom look they're an option.

Only thing you will need to do is use red loc-tite or a similar thread adhesive on the stems and where you attach the mirror body to the top of the stem. They do vibrate some with your hands off the bars; mine are pretty solid and little-to-no vibration at speed/hands on bars.

I have found very few after market mirrors are really very functional. Most vibrate to the extent you can't tell if it's a cop or a truck behind you and many are too small to be very safe. With small mirrors you can easily miss seeing someone behind you. The conditions you ride in will dictate how important mirrors are to you personally but where I ride, riding without them is inconceivable (and illegal). They will pull you over and cite you here if you do not have a mirror on both sides.

For a combination of function and style I like these turn signal mirrors. They are rock steady, large enough to be functional, more stylish than stock, and allow elimination of the bulbous stock front signals. They are a little expensive but not as costly as custom mirrors and custom signals when combined.
