First, a disclaimer:

I have no hand's on knowledge of this, and not confirm or deny the accuracy of this information.

I'd feel better if I saw it myself, but,,,

According to a member of another board, he was present when a dealers rep came by with some additional photo's of the new Fury. The photo's were not given out, but he, and other's were allowed to view them.

There was no 'earth shaking / industry changing' radical new design or criteria shown in the photo's.

Here are the highlights:

I saw pics of the Fury at my local Honda dealership last week.
Happen to be in there when he came in. He showed them to everyone in there at that time. I won't go into specs because Hal has correctly listed them in above posts.
I do know it is not hybid, it is shaft drive, radiator is recessed in frame in front, abs option, Colors: Black, Blue, Red, Silver, Matte Black w/black wheels, single shock under seat. And a list of Honda accessories to be bought through dealership.
Dealers can not order until January.
Speculating cost to be somewhere from 12 to 14 thousand. But that was just speculation. could be less.
It is suppose to be debuted at the New York bike show and it will be at the Indianapolis Dealer show in Febuary.
The Rep was very protective of his photos. Each one had a number in it that represented that rep,, said if pics got out before the debut he could lose his job.

For those of you who are happy with what you are currently riding, (as am I), and are not impressed with the Fury, there is no need to go into that debate here again.:nope: That is not why I posted this.

I have followed the Fury thing as I am always 'interested' in something 'new', even if it isn't what I'm looking for,,,,,

I AM kinda curious to see if/how the monoshock system could possibly be integrated into other street models in the future.

I find it strange that HD has choosen to use dual swing arm mounted shocks on their 09 dressers 'as a new design' iso the 'soft tail' swing arm system they previously used,,,, and that Honda has (possibly) dropped the dual shocks for a monoshock,,,,,:hmm2:

Sorry, not the Fury. Real prototype, yes. Fury, no. Lotsa folks (and myself at one time) thought those pics were/could be a prototype Fury.

Well respected sources on the OA board indicate that the pics are of a 2003 1800 proto type.

It's said that the Fury does have a monoshock, though.

Not denying that at all. Back end does look like a C model. When you hold your mouse curser over the pic, the "pop-up" says Honda Fury. Guess everyone is taking a stab at being the first to get a pic.

Talked to the mechanic at the local Honda dealer the other day.
I made a comment about how it would be nice if the Fury had a fat rear tire.
He said, yea, well, it does.
Dont know if hes truthful or not, but for whatever thats worth.

The monoshock is not new.

My old 84 V65 Sabre had the monoshock, ran with adjustable air pressure in it (9around 4 or5 lbs.).

Now that bike was a freakin' rocket! Even my V45 Magna was fast.

My speculation on the Fury is like others I've read on the i'net. It has the lines of a chopper/hardbagger to me! :stirpot:

Not new,,, more like ANTIQUE at 25 yrs!!!

Musta been some reason why they decided not to go with it on all the bikes,,

Thoughts on the subject, the reason why a chopper seems to be apealing is because they are not as common as many others, once they are mass produced, I feel they will loose that certain apeal....

I don't care what they put in it or on it, choppers are created for a personality not off the self people. I will never buy one, if I ever got the bug it would say me when I sat on it. I'm too old schoo; for this new stuff, I still think for myself.

Looks like the same old ugly 1300C license plate mount too.

Dont see anything there to make me want one.

Those drawings could be accurate, as I don't see anything in them that conflicts with what I have heard about the Fury so far,,,

Doesn't look very "industry changing" to me,,,

Time will tell if it pans out,,,

It looks like in the picture above that there is a belt drive, but in the link to the drawing its a shaft drive.

Looks like all thats different is a raked front with a lot of space between top of heads and the frame, looks "empty" there. They could have done a lot better than that!
