Greetings all,

I am a considering a VTX R. I love everything about the bike...except the fact that the front brake rotar is on the left sie (IMHO) is a dumb as place to put it) kinda takes away from the best side of the bike.

Any way to move it to the left side??

thanks in advance!

i wonder if you could switch the forks
Thought about that, but that would put the caliper forward of the forks...Not very attractive like that, plus might affect bleeding the brakes...Plus would need longer brake hose, and have to be re-routed to the other side of the bike...Might be possible, but more work than I'd personally put into it for such a minor visual change.....

Especially since you can just spend a little cash on a chrome cover for it to make it purty!

I'm moving the front brake to the left side :mosh:

Found a set of used VT750 legs, new Progressives in there and seals!

I have the 750 Caliper however I may upgrade to a Wilwood or PM (like Dumbcomputers did).

The VT750 and VTX1300 upper fork tube outside diameter is the same

see my sif pic, they are on there, you will have to find a machine shop to get the axel changed, cost me $60.00!!!!

Are you buying a VTX to ride it or look at it ?
Would it be wrong to say, "Both"? People do all kinds of things to their bikes and a lot of them are for aesthetics (e.g. chrome, big tire kits, paint). None of them are free. Changing the brake rotor side seems to fall into this category of aesthetic changes although admittedly not a very common one.

it is to be rode and admired (any bike for that matter)...that's why all the customizing and chroming goes into the bike...when it's parked it is to be admired, but while riding it is to be comfortable...preference is the key, but it's both worlds that makes bikes so appealing

Whiskeyrockr, Have you heard the old expression/game "Pinch-poke, you owe me a Coke" or "Jinx"? I won't hold you to the rules of Jinx but you do now owe me a Coke. :)
