I'm not trying to generate business for anyone, but for those of us with the MS Fairing there's now a good option for adding an audio system. It's called Hogtunes and is designed specifically for the MS batwing fairing. Pretty straightforward install - it attaches to the fairing itself and has a handlebar mounted MP3 ( etc) holder with a volume control big enough to operate with a gloved thumb. It has a 50 W amp with decent speakers. built in. I got "audio envy" on a recent trip with friends, so I was happy when I read that there's a system for those of us with the MS fairing. I've had it on for a week, and can testify that it's good. I can hear my tunes at freeway speeds. I'm running Roadhouse Dooleys, so I can't comment on anyone running louder pipes. My only complaint is that the unit conflicted with my Baron risers. I had to go back to stock to clear the Hogtunes system. In the next week or so, I plan to go to a local machine shop and see if they can fabricate some new risers that will allow for the Hogtunes setup. I miss the 4" rise and 2" closer to me handlebars.

Sorry, guys. I know the 1st rule of posting: PICS!!!! My bad.

Here are some shots of the installed unit. I don't want to hear any crap about how the wiring looks; it's temporary. You can see how risers interfere with the bottom of the unit. My plan for fabricated risers is to have them come "back" toward me right out of the triple tree, then "up" after they clear the audio unit. Works in my head, anyway.

I don't know about the waterproof. I know I'll eventually get caught in the rain, but the unit is semi-protected by the fairing, at least when I'm moving.

how fast is your highway speeds 65, 70, 75??? are they waterproof??? i been playing with the idea of speakers its between the hogtunes or this setup http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DYNA-SPORSTER-HARLEY-RADIO-DO-U-LOVE-YOUR-BIKE-/370508463802?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5644067eba

about the same price and i can get the box only model for 150... i already have 2 6.5" speakers just need a radio...
Depends on the road, of course, but typically I cruise freeways at 70+. I also wear a full face helmet, so for you guys that wear something else, the sound will be even louder.

A reasonable consideration zippy. I carry saran wrap in my bags to cover a multitude of electronic things like my GPS. I'll probably cover this unit with it, too. I've gotten used to "wrapping it up", considering my Ultimate seats tend to soak up water as well. (I can vouch that Mike's ziplock bag works well.)

The speakers and amp are all in the unit, but changing the speakers may be possible. Honestly though, at speed (and with my helmet on) I doubt that I could tell the difference between speakers. This sucker pumps out the sound.
