I had some led lights put on my bike a few months back. They work great.

Anyway I bought some more they are a different type. I wired them to the same leads from the other lights and thats where the problem is. The original lights stay on but are dim and the new lights stay on with the switch on or off.

My question is do I need yto just go ahead and get a different switch for the new lights?

Also the new lights come on with a hot wire and a wire touching the metal anywhere. The original lights don't they have to have the hot and ground wire.

I haven't done any wiring in over 30 years. I guess I forgot a few things.

Any help would be appreciated.:coffee:

Sometimes you just gotta walk away for a while. I used to build boats and wire them when I was younger. This almost stumped me though.

I figured out for some reason the new lights don't want to be grounded to the battery. Had to ground them to the frame. Everything works great now.

You know, I do a LOT of electrical stuff, and I still find myself just scratching my head sometimes as to why something works or something doesnt.

A friend of mine has an OLD OLD OLD OLD (like 1978) Yamaha. He had a problem with the turn signals not working. He and i were messing with it, and all of a sudden they started working. we have NO clue what we did to make them work, but, they've worked flawlessly every day since then.

Sometimes you just have to accept the unexplainable.
