I recently purchased a new to me VTX1800C. I found a windshield for it on craigslist claiming to be from an 06 VTX1800. I don't know what model it came off. The mounting bracket doesn't look like anything I've seen. I need to know if it will work on my bike or not. As far as I can tell it looks like a Hondaline windshield which would be amazing considering I only paid $40 for it. It appears to bolt on under the risers and headlight but I'm not sure if it was meant for an R model or if it would work on a C as well. If someone has seen this before or knows if it would work, any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to the forum so I'm having problems uploading photos. I have the photos in an album on my profile if that helps.

Welcome from somewhere west of Atlanta. If it doesn't fit and if it's Hondaline, you can certainly re-sell it for a small profit and get the right one. After 5 post, you can do pics. Good luck

Thanks, ok about the pics. Its hard to explain without pics. It seems like the measurements are right but the top bracket has three holes for each side and I'm assuming that the risers on the 1800c are held on with one bolt each side. That's what makes me wonder if it's off a retro.

Different models have different fork tubes, and mounting brackets. Cruiser Customizing has, I believe, the Hondaline w/s like mine, it's the only place I found it. I recently was looking for new chromed mounting clamps, unique to this w/s, but couldn't find just the clamps, and ended up getting them re-chromed.

Thanks, I was not really crazy about the color at first but the price was right, its growing on me...lol
To me, that's one of the best looking colors there is. I'm doing a re-paint this winter (fingers crossed) and something like that is what i have in mind. I love black but it shows every piece of dust. every nik and every swirl mark.

Well, got a chance to take a closer look today. It bolted right up no problems. There where existing factory holes for it on the bottom of the upper triple tree and the bottom bracket bolted on using the headlight bolts. Now I need to figure out how to eliminate the buffeting that beats me to death at 60+mph.
