I have spent several long hours searching the internet for the perfect headlight bulb (Honda Light Bar currently Installed) and safety accessories. I have considered using the Kisan Pathblazer modulator along with the trailblazer deceleration brake bulb. I find a couple of probs with the Kisan Pathblazer modulator and that is that it gets hot and you have to drill a small hole in your headlight so the daylight sensor can see. The Kisan trailblazer brake bulb sounds pretty cool, it is pricey. I have also found some threads here that discuss drilling my pipes as well as someone who is selling an aftermarket baffle for my vtx 1300 Pipes. It would be nice to get some in depth info on changing the baffles on my stock pipes before I drill holes in the end of the pipes. Drilling the holes is a pretty good idea and it sounds great, I am just the type of mechanic who likes to keep things looking original. Post your suggestions and ideas and e-mail me if you prefer. I am new to the world of the VTX 1300 but I am on my way! Ride strong, Live Long, Richard P.S. I am a veteran motorcyle rider.

Do a search on the forum on the Sturgis Thunder Pipe Works mod. The only way to really get the stock baffles out is to take off the heat shields and cut the mufflers open (at least that's all I know of). You can sent your stock cans off to STPW and he does a great job. Has an adjustable baffle that changes the tone of the pipes, is reversible, etc. You can find all the mod. options at his website. But, take warning on the STPW mods. and aftermarket intakes--I couldn't get mine to run properly with a BAK, but it's a great sounding pipe if you want to keep the stock box and add no more than a K&N to the stock airbox.

If you want to keep the original look, Roadhouse slip-ons look pretty close to the stock cans and have better sound from what I've read. Cobra slip-ons have good sound and look pretty original as well. On lighting for safety, lightbar you already have is about as good as you're going to find on the front end. If they don't see you coming with that, they're not going to with anything else IMHO.

Thanks for the Replies, Rich and Green Ghost. I can't seem to find the data I need when either modifying my stock pipes or adding, Cobra, Vance and Hines, or Road House. I can find many sellers of pipes but no one suggests the package that will work. I.E. Cobra sells a jet kit but what air cleaner is the best to use with thier pipes and jet kit? Kuryakyn makes a cool looking pricey air cleaner but will it do the right job with any pipe and carb mod, and I mention this because of Your experience with the BAK you tried. Our parts are pretty expensive so You don't have much room to experiment. The Kuryakyn air cleaner costs about 299.00, add 300-500 for pipes plus a carb kit and the little lady (wife) not the bike..lol..is not going to be happy. I appreciate the good info You gave out, especially the BAK problem. Ride Strong, Live Long, Richard
