Hello Everyone! I just got my 2006 VTX 1300C about 2 weeks ago, then I found this site. I've already got a few hundred miles under my belt (mostly back and forth to work), but looking forward to logging some recreational miles REAL SOON! I'm already looking into lots of accessories that I'm going to "need" to get to make my travels more practical so you guys should keep an eye open for questions from me about product feedback! I've seen some great bike pics on here, and look forward to meeting some of you.

Hey mooney....even though yours is a 2009...it's the same color as mine! I see from your profile pic that you have 2 of the first accessories that I'm looking for. The highway bars, and the windsheild. If you don't mind me asking... what brands did you go with, why, and any feedback on them? I'm driving 50 miles one way to work, and it's mostly interstate speeds....(70mph +/-). The wind is brutal once your get past 60mph! Does the windsheild help?

Welcome to the cafe from Moyock, NC. Although I'm on an S, IMHO yes, the windshield helps alot. I ride through some countryside on my way to work and the number of bugs I clean off when I get to work makes the windshield worth while to me. I'm running a Memphis Shades Fats.

Fuel mileage will increase...With a naked bike, you have the "human parachute" thing going on at highway speeds..Adding a windshield improves the aerodynamics of the bike, and when I switched from the windshield to the fairing, it increased my fuel mileage even more...I consistantly get to 160 miles on the trip meter now before having to switch to reserve...

Welcome from Daytona Beach. I also run with a Memphis Shades Fat, and although I like the looks of the bike without a windshield (I have a Retro), the ride with a windshield is MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE.

If your looking for cool add on items, one that I have found and love, especially since summer in Phoenix makes you pay attention to temperature, was this custom Dipstick with Oil temp gauge... No I am Not affiliated with this site, But awesome add on because this is the only one I have found in Fahrenheit.. http://www.cycletocycle.com/vtx.html
