Hello all, First post here. I have decided to replace the stock exhaust. I have read a lot of threads on here regarding Bubs and Vance and Hines. I have an 07 c model and think the longshots are just a bit too long for my taste. I have narrowed it down to two sets of pipes either the Bubs Jug Huggers or the vance and Hines Cruzers. I am looking for help on deciding. I have listened to sound clips of both and think both sound great. Unfortunately I have a very small group of people I ride with that is mostly family and none of them have the same bike or exhaust I am looking for. I see the general consensus on the boards is that Bubs is the way to go but is it really worth the price difference? I saw that the cruzers get a decibal reading of about 97 and the Bubs 107, but some people put stealth baffels in Bubs which supposedly take it down to around 100. However the Bubs are a little over 200$ more on average. I am kind of worried if i get the cruzers exhaust ill want louder eventually but I also have seen that the Bubs are pretty dang loud and not sure if I want an exhaust that loud if it really is as ridiculously loud as people say they are (but then again some people say it isnt that bad). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know you have two choices up there but wanted to throw out the vtxexhaust.com option out there as well in case you missed it. I personally like the stock look and they make it sound awesome.

If this is an option you already considered I apologize in advance. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Personally,,,I wouldn't trade my Bubs for any other system out there. "Is it worth the price difference",,,ultimately that decision lies with you. I hear what you say about the limited access to actual bikes with the pipes you would like to hear but that is the only way you will be able to make a rock solid decision. Look up the closest member to you with the pipes you want to hear,,contact them,,,arrange a meet then go for a ride. It will be worth your time and effort as well as your $$$. The only thing you have to loose is the gas to get there to make the decision. Just my .02

Bubs are beautiful but god-awful loud. I have them on my 1800 and, even with secondary silencers, I HAVE to wear ear plugs. Bass is right about availability - They are very difficult to get and it takes a long time - 3 months for me. I think they are only built on order.

I once had my heart set on a set of Bubs. Ordered them in February and when May came I started calling. No response at all. Couldn't fax them, couldn't email them, nothing but voicemail, it was very frustrating.

Stumbled upon some Samson pipes, got the "Street Sweepers". Very similar to the Jug Huggers. Got them for a decent price from hellriser customs. I'd give them a look over.

I can't follow a bike with bubs on group rides just to dam loud.
same with me...way to loud to ride behind. I have a set of Cobra Dragsters that came with the bike and I like the sound and the few people that have rode with me do not mind the sound. I will say that if I ever change I will put a set of Cobra Speedster Longs. I love the long look and the Cobra warranty is great.

I had no idea that the BUBS were so hard to get. I would hate to pay all that money and wait for months and still not receive a set. I think they look the best but it doesn't sound like you get the best bang for your buck with them. I took a look at some cobras but didn't like how the arm in back is uncovered. I also looked at some Vance and Hines and a couple other places suggested but prices on pipes I looked into were a bit much except the Vance and Hines. I'll look at the samsons. Hadn't heard of those yet. Thanks for all the help and information.
