Thought you guys should know of a new type of spark plug that I have tried and really love the performance they are giving me. There is no gaping since nothing moves......They make plugs for our vtx's and have had mine going on 5000 miles and have not seen any drop in performance.
You can take a look at their website - e3sparkplugs.com

Hope you enjoy them like I do.

We sell them at O'Reillys. I can see how they can last longer due to 3 grounding electroids but that would be about it. I know your didn't say that they improved anything, but some people think they do. I think I'll stick to the NGK's in my 1300.

Spark plugs will not increase performance....Think about it, you either have spark or you don't...A cheap set of Champions will give the engine all the spark it needs just as well as those high dollar plugs...As far as longevity, I still have the same set of plugs in mine it left the factory with, have just over 18,000 miles on them, and the bike runs better now than it did the day I took delivery...

Service life of some OEM Iridium spark plugs can be as much as 120000 miles with very little degrading of performance in that lifespan. NGK Iridium IX types have a centre electrode tipped with Iridium alloy with a 0.6mm diameter. NGK believe this gives the optimum balance between performance and service life. Service life estimates can be up to 60000 miles for normally aspirated car engines and up to 20000 miles for motorcycles - this is extremely subjective though, a high revving motorcycle or extremely modified car engine will most likely wear plugs out in a few thousand miles.

i suppose if your plugs are bad, worn, or fouled and you replaced them with new plugs of any type, you would notice a performance enhancement so to speak other than getting a clean spark that was lost due to the bad, fouled, or worn plugs...but i seriously doubt taking out new plugs and replacing them with a "more expensive" set will change or enhance performance.....a platnium might last a little longer, an iridium may last even a little longer, but i personally haven't noticed any "performance" enhancement when using higher priced plugs....it would take a lot more than a simple clean spark to enhance performance by any noteable difference...just my opinion

Iridiums are costly, $57 a set for my 14. Had to use them in my EVO as well. I will stay with NGKs.
i'm just curious, why di you Have to use them in the EVO? i ask, because i have friends with the EVO running $1.50 spark plug with no issues...just curious, not arguing
