Mariska...my wife and planned a Kettle Moraine trip a couple times last year and got rained out twice. Planning on giving it another try this summer. Any recommendations on routes or areas that are a must see?

Hey Pete, Just wondering if you've gotten up to the Kettle Moraine area at all this year?

Sadly no. This has been the summer from hell. My daughter is getting married 9/15, so weekends have been non-existent with wedding stuff. And now we are in the process of getting my dad settled in a nursing home. Other than riding to and from work, weekend joy rides have been a dream. Hoping to get out this weekend just to ride for fun...at least a little.

Pete, I know exactly what you mean, but remember family is first priority! The same here for the past year since my mothers passing and father's medical issues. I have not been riding much at all this year either, saving for a new seat (ultimate seat) since my tailbone and the OE seat just aren't getting along anymore :( Now my husband and my son have been riding as long as it isn't 100` degrees out. Well best of luck with all that your going through, and congratulations on your daughters wedding! Take Care.

Packers are ok in our house :) Thats my husbands team since he was a youngin.. Thank you for the invite to ride this sunday, normally that would have been great! But the news in our household is not good. On Aug 5, a beautiful Sunday morning infact, we were heading up to Lake Geneva my husband, myself and our son along with 3 other friends/ 6 bikes in total. I'll try to make it short- my hubby was leading us, RT12 (NB) just north of 173. There was a guy in a truck at the stop sign, that decided he wanted to beat the SB car to make his left, unfortunetly my husband (Reid) was right there, He broadsided my husband. We all had to make emergency/panic stops to avoid hitting the truck :) My husbands Right leg was crushed/severly amputated at the scene :)) He has been home now for just over a week, yep 2 months in the hospital(s) and 6 surgeries. It sucks...

His bike is gone, but mine is in the garage awaiting another day to go for a ride :) Oh, I'm not preaching but his helmet saved him from major head trauma/brain injury-- that would've been worse.

So please enjoy these few days we have left, check with us next year ok... don't forget us! And most importantly, Watch those 4 wheel a**holes... they're bad decision could ruin your life.

We have a wonderful family with our VTXCAFE friends/family, they've been awesome with there support.

Hi VTX mom,

Hope all is well!! I won't type a huge letter now, just checking if you guys are still on the "Cafe" Please feel free to reply.

Once again....Hope all is well!!
Great to hear from you, thanks for remembering us ! Yes of course still part of the "Cafe", and my bike hasn't been ridden since the day of my husband's accident. Our son still rides, but I have always ridden with my husband, not really a Lone Wolf rider . We will see maybe this year, if the weather Ever gets better around here. Again thanks for checking on us. Best wishes to you.
