It has only been a week, but I am absolutely going crazy. This is the time of year when getting on the open road and exploring the countryside is my release from reality, especially after the brutal winter we had.

I have a hard time even visiting here because it gives me the jones'.The next 5 weeks may drive me insane.

The full cast came off, but the hand brace still won't allow me to ride.

Just venting..............

Hang in there, aye

Nice bike, well worth the waiting. Ride safe, you have a long summer ahead. Im just heading into winter and dreading the days I have to get the fourwheeler out (car) :banghead: The trouble with being over 50 is it takes so long to heal.

Just follow the Docs instruction or 5 weeks could become a lot longer wait.

Tell me about it. I been down 11 weeks, squeaked in a 60 miler now back off. Had both knees replaced and must completely heal before I risk a long ride.
I here ya, do the yherapy at home too even when it hurts like heck. My home therapy was nonexistant they didn't show up but one time out of 6 sessions scheduled. My leg still hurts but I can now ride longer distances. I don't push it 20-30 miles and then turn around. I do my exercises daily and it's been 5 months since having 1 replaced.

Sounds strange hearing about winter when this is just getting to be our prime riding season. Come on over I'll let you ride my bike.

Yup. Been there, done that. Two years ago when then replaced 2 vertibrae in my neck, it was 6 MONTHS before I was able to ride again. Celebrated with the trip to the ECG -- just over 1K miles round trip.

Don't fret, you'll get back on soon enough.

Thanks fellas. I know it could have been a LOT worse, so I should be thankful and not bitchin' and moanin'.

Perhaps in 3 weeks or so I can fashion some kind of "riding splint" or something.

I feel for you and hope I don't join you; go tomorrow for MRI, doctor thinks I have torn my rotator cuff and tricep!! :) Hope not, heh, I made it to DC and back for the Rolling Thunder Rally. Ok, it did hurt like hell at night but I still made it so hopefully therapy will be all that is needed. Get well soon and don't push it.

Let it heal properly and go through any physical therapy needed/required. Messed up my ankle a couple of years ago and went back to work with tight boots and a tighter wrap on the ankle. I didn't give it time to heal properly and I still have problems with it. The ride will be there when you heal.

Eagleboy,

Hate to hear you're hurting, but before you go for the big buck MRI, did you try going to one of them massage parlours..? Sometimes they can work the kinks out.... Not sure if you can turn it in to your insurance, but it might work out better...

Spoiler

I feel your pain. I was off the bike for several weeks back around Thanksgiving due to a perforated bowel and the following surgery!

I was back on the long before I went back to work. ;)
