I'm fixing to decap and change to K&N filter on my 1300C, along with install of Glenn's permanent A/F and PAIR valve removal. My question concerns the K&N air filter..........locally I have to order it, and have seen some 'kit' to clean and recharge the oiled filter. Hate to sound 'dumber', but is that 'kit' something I need or is there something else that y'all are using to charge the oil filter and clean it when necessary?

If you go with the K&N air filter, you will need a cleaner/recharge kit. I clean and recharge mine every year or so, depending on usage. One cleaner/recharge kit is good for multiple recharges.

When you get the filter it will have a link with it to show how to clean it and it is not needed for a while or until you need to clean it.

Are you changing pipes.
? Decap and K&N and not opening up the other end.

I've got Bubs ordered..........but they are back ordered. I figured I would get the PAIR removal, decap and K&N, and SCAR mod done now while waiting on the pipes. Bad idea?
