She says go out and get me (her) a better (best) more comfortable seat. Ask your passenger what her (or his) best butt pad is. She is about to go psyco on me after a couple hours on the stock pad.

Oh the X is then 05 1300 s
I was out with a buddy yesterday and his woman was riding on the back of a hardtail with no seat. I guess you have to prep her rear so that it's numb. any of these methods would work....:harder: :spank: :drunk:

My Girl LOVES the stock seat on my C- she said it is the most comfortable rear seat she has ever ridden on.

But my seat sucks... after 45- 50 minutes my arse is sore.

Im a big boy-- so looking into a gell seat that looks as cool as the stocker and has a gel rear also.

Ultimate you say?

I've been looking into seat issues, too, cause after a while, my rear goes numb and gets painful........I've asked in this forum, for honest answers to the question......I've gotten several answers.......the problem is how much do you spend? you can have your seat and pilon modified for under a hundred, you can replace them for 6-800 bucks......interestingly enough yesterday I looking through the VTXOA forum andsaw that several people used the ultimate or mustang seats with the airhawk seat cushion!!!! so I am also confused.......my dealer recommended the airhawk, too.........at this point, I'm not sure what to do, myself.....cause everyone's built different and none of us will respond the same to each seat......I like the looks of the stock seat and am thinking of having it modified and adding a backrest for me........cant do that with the ultimate..........I'm starting to think the airhawk is the way to go......I've seen it for as little as $130, from Derby cycles..........:(

Check out the Saddleman seats as well. They tend to run a little less than some of the others; $200 for modding a stock seat is pretty high and for not a whole lot more you could buy a whole new aftermarket front and passenger.

You can also look into the modification that Bad-X of this site does to your stock seat. Actually changes it to "sit" like a Mustang. I'm not sure what his exact prices are for doing it now, but I believe he was doing it for like $25 + Shipping not too long ago.

I had a secretary in my office make me a pad that fit my 1300R stock seat. She glues 2 pieces of foam together and shaped it like the stocker. Made one for the passenger also. It rides great for me. My wife still does'nt like it though. Even with the pad I still like to stop every hour or so.

I think the problem with the stock seat is the way it curves up the back. It just does'nt fit right to me. The pad I have now really makes a difference. Both pads cost me a $8.00 chinese lunch!

RetroRich, I've checked into prices of new seats vs. modifying my stock seat: Ultimate=$480, saddleman=$380, SoCal gel mod to my stock seat=$200.
I actually like the stockseat, it's just a little hard, and not quite wide enough for my wife. I'll keep you guys posted, but since I'm retired, I'll try the SoCal mod first.

I have to make a revision: I found the Saddleman Explorer seat for $313 at xtremerevolution.com!

Yeh, the Explorer is not really priced bad for a two-up. I really like the looks of their Tattoo Profiler, but it's not really a two-up which can be a little limiting on versatility.

I'm thinking about having Bad-X modify my stocker for now and see how that works. It's starting to be a PITA, literally. I'm also going to try out (with their permission) some of the other guys seats on the Charlotte 8/19 ride as well.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Shutterbug and Rich-

I am also going to have Bad _ X modify my stocker for now- for 50 bucks, if it is MARGINALLY better it is worth it. Im just waiting to go away on my next business trip to send it in.

Headguess, could you please advise how you attach the seat cushion so it doesn't shift? I'd like to try making one for my and my husbands bikes also.

I saw the pics of your grandsons. Very handsome young men.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks! I am very proud of my Grandkids! My cushion has an elastic strap at the front and I just slide it between the tank and seat. I have not had a problem with it shifting during the ride. I thought I would but it works fine.:choppersm Ride on!

ok.....I made the big decision....I ordered new ultimate seats......a Big Boy! I went all out and got the rider backrest....with a pouch.....I didnt get anything custom because I'm worried about spending that much and not liking it......even tho I like the looks of Coley's bike, I thought all that color might be too much...I did go with the studs.....should be arriving end of next week....cant wait.....my dicision was based on the fact that not only is my rear hurting and falling asleep, but is hot...even in cool weather...so modifying the stock seat might not help all the issues......we'll see!!!! :hmm2:
