I know most is up to personal preference but where do the patches go on a leather vest? I have a 12" round one. I know that goes on the back in the center. I have an American Flag patch and under it it says these colors dont run. I think this should go on the vest to be over my heart. I ahve another patch that says loud pipes save lives. where should that patch go? LOL Im lost

That was the last one unfotunately, Kenko ordered them and I have yet to see him. When he's ready he'll call and I'll see if we can order more. By the way I was late getting your address I will get the amp in the mail on Monday, you should have it by Weds. That's my birthday, so HB from me. It'll take a half hour to install at the most and you'll be ready to rock n roll.

lay out the vest on the floor or table and move around the patches to see where you like them.

Ive added some since these pics, but..

Interesting article....................

http://www.ehow.com/way_5251254_proper-layout-leather-biker-vest.html

My vest. I didn't want a black vest, so I opted for this one, which I like a lot. But the sweat comes right through it in the hot Florida Sun. Wife wants me to clean it. But I tell her it's a biker's vest fer chrissake.........

My "hall of fame" on the left. I currently have a VTX and a Valkyrie.
American flag will go above the hall of fame soon.

I like to go to casinos..............

Some geat looking vest. How are you guys attaching your patches? My vest has alot of pockets inside and out on the front and don't want to sew them closed. Are you using an adhesive or paying someone to take the vest apart and sew the patches on then putting it back together?
If you are using an adhesive, you have a name brand or link.
Also, if you are sewing them yourselves, will a home sewing machine work with the leather or do you need an industrial one?
Thanks Scott

I have a leather shop sew them on. Pockets can be a big problem, there part of the leather surface so taking the vest apart doesn't make the problem go away. You could order a cheap vest just for when you want to wear your patches and have some pockets added to the inside when the patches are being sewed on.

I found a shoe repair place in town that sews them on. They charge $5~$6 to sew the smaller ones on, depending on their mood. I had to make about 20 calls before I found anyone who could sew leather. Start by calling your local dealership or gear store. I've asked about glue, and got nothing but negative responses, which was good enough for me.

The folks that sew my patches are pros. They could have taken down the lining and reinstalled it for each session, but they said it really didn't hurt to sew through the lining, so I didn't pay extra for that. On my vest, (light brown one a couple of messages above this post) the VTX patch is on the front of a pocket. They sewed it right on without closing the pocket. The Valkyrie patch in front is over an inside pocket. She (somehow???) was able to sew the patch on, and through the outer part of the pocket, but not the inner part. The pocket is still useable. Only difference is that before, the pocket could be turned inside out. Now it can't, but I didn't lose any usefulness of the pocket. Looking at it, I can't figure out how she did it. :hmm2: That's a pro for ya...... :mosh:

I like the patches but the flag patch should be higher than any of the patches on the vest. The in memory patch belongs below the flag. Not complaining just explaining.
Here's a link for the patches you're looking for, I hope it helps finish your vest.:patriot:

I have been using Solidercity.com for a few years now helping my American Legion riders and VFW riders comrades to find hard to find patches.
Just do a search for any patch you are looking for and most likely they have it.
The were the only place I could find my LRRP patch.
