having problems with mine all of a sudden. just about a couple of weeks noticed that they were popping out of the whole the little plastic dimple goes into (i think that's the official technical ASE term, lol) they are still connected on top.

up to know she's been good. has anyone here had the same problem and fixed it, or any idea how to fix it? thanks in advance...:choppersm

I have two ideas. First, how certain are you that they are connected at top? There is a strange little metal clip that connects them on the top and holds them together. This clip is often loose and can slide off. Second, some of the cables/wires go inside these plastic nect covers. Have you done anything to "tighten" up these cables/wires such as added risers or changed handlebars, etc.? Doing so might cause the cables/wires to exert more outward force on the neck cover when the handlebars are turned to a full lock position.

Oh, by the way, get the Kuryaken chrome/plastic neck covers. They really dress this otherwise ugly area up nicely. Note that the chrome replacements still use the original metal clip so don't lose that clip.

G'day,

Vinish

the top is still intact. have added some stuff, but like i mentioned, nothing recent. then i noticed the bottom popped out one day, it was okay for a couple of days, then noticed again, now it just stays that way. it's more bothersome than anything else.

thanks, for the Kury suggestion. right now can't afford it and dont like them that much. take care

They also tuck in behind the front mounts that the tank slides into. I keep my 12 volt adapter in there, and have had mine pop out when removing the adapter for use.
You shouldn't need to remove the tank, just move them around a bit until you get them tucked back in.

Black zip ties. Had to do that with mine.

Wren

Oh yeah, if ya ever lose that top clip, a 2 inch piece of coat hanger bent into a tight-bottumed 'U', slipped on, then pinched, cures that problem.

I had mine start popping out after I installed my risers. Too much pressure from one of the cables. 5 seconds with a dremel (and then I cleaned up the plastic with a little tool to smooth out cut plastic..forget what it's called) and It had a bit more play in it.
