Happy Fathers Day guys... Need a little help. I put in a K&N Filter and a 205 main jet from Factory Pro. I'm 2 1/2 turns out on the A/F screw. I've done the Scar Mod with 2 shims a while back when I had the stock main jet in. I also put in a #58 slow jet a while back too when I drilled about 15 or so 3/8 inch holes in my stock air cleaner. Before I put the 205 main jet and K&N filter the idle sound good and the bike ran strong. Now it idles funny like it's going to cut off. It sounds more like it's panting than a normal idle sound, but it still runs strong in every gear. Slight hesitation before it takes off when I twist the throttle for keep speed at top end. Maybe it's just a bit rich per the smell. Oh yeah...new plugs yesterday Champion RA8HC. That's all the info I can think of giving. I'm open to all ideas and suggestions.:confused:

Drilling the pipes didn't bring in any new air so no changes in the carb are needed other than an a/f adjustment, the K&N filter doesn't bring in enough new air in to warrant anymore changes either. With the holes you drilled into the airbox I would recommend you put the stock jets back in it and just just leave the 2 shims on the needle, and also leave the a/f at 2.5 turns out . Usually when just adding a K&N filter to a stock box you wouldn't even need the shims, but being you have the holes drilled into it the 2 shims should be all it needs to run great...

P.S. When it's idling to low it will sound like you described, it should be at +/- 900 rpm.
