First post! FYI I didn't search so if someone knows where a link for this problem is please just drop it below.

Alright everyone, my VTX has had the sticky turn signal problem since I got it over a year ago. About 2 weeks ago I ordered a replacement turn signal switch and finally tried to put it on tonight. Well I get everything taken apart just to realize that I ordered the wrong one. In my haste I ordered a switch for a 2007-2008 1800. I am pretty handy with electrical stuff but I honestly don't even know where to start.

My question is: Is there any possible way to get the new turn signal control to work with the existing wiring on the bike. I am willing to cut/splice/solder whatever I need to to get it to function properly. I have a 1000 mile ride planned this weekend that includes the Tail of the Dragon and I really want to be able to take it with working signals.

These are the wiring schematics for the two bikes so you dont have to search them out yourself.

Getting the right switch is out of the question with timing I suppose.

You say sticky switch! Is it possible you could lube and adjust the old switch? Mine was a little hard to use and I bent the button shaft a little and lubed the contact points. been fine ever since. May have stretched the spring as well I don't remember now. I know I did stretch the spring on the starter switch.
